We’ve known and loved Matthew before he was the famous Gourmet Farmer of Fat Pig Farm and before he was the Food Critic for the Sydney Morning Herald. A freelance writer - after cooking for a living in Canberra - he and his friend and photographer Alan Benson worked together producing food and wine articles for Gourmet Traveler and Vogue Entertaining Magazines. Bloodwood and F.O.O.D. Week was one of their earliest articles. Matthew has become one of Australia’s most relatable and effective communicators, helping us all to care deeply about the repair and restoration of our soils, about growing quality produce and the provenance and ethical systems that underpin the foods we eat.
